Impregnation cream facade
Gevelprof Gevelcreme 15 litre
For impregnating both existing and new porous substrates, baked stone, natural stone, sand-lime brick, plasterwork and aerated concrete. Due to its pasty form, the cream is very easy to apply.
Advantages of impregnation / hydrophobising with Facadeprof Facade Impregnating Cream
- Prevent problems with moisture penetration.
- Prevent problems with frost damage, salt efflorescence, lime erosion, chemical corrosion, etc.
- Prevent mould, moss and algae growth.
- Materials dry faster, become less contaminated and last longer.
- Provides longer protection than impregnating agents (see product guarantee)
- No loss of material when applied with brush or fur roller
- Particularly good penetration capacity due to long contact time
The impregnating cream is used for
- Existing/old masonry facades
- Existing/old decorative plaster facades
- New masonry facades, application after 2 weeks at the earliest
- Masonry with subsequently installed cavity wall insulation
- Paving/terraces
- Chimneys
Cleaning the substrate before applying the facade cream
Before impregnation, the contamination of the substrate must be removed (soiling
salt efflorescence, algae) to ensure optimum results.
Cleaning agents used to clean the substrate must be removed completely.
Processing of creme impregnator
To achieve a good result, the steps below should be followed;
- Remove loose parts such as joints and stone chips
- Repair joints and cracks
- Clean the surface to be treated with a high-pressure cleaner
- Allow the substrate to dry sufficiently. The substrate must be as dry as possible.
- Gevelprof Gevel- Impregnating cream should be applied with a block brush or a coat roller. The impregnating cream must be applied continuously without interruption. The treated surface must be protected from driving rain for at least 30 minutes. Wind and bright sun will cause the solvent to evaporate too quickly, reducing penetration! The initial white layer disappears completely after 10 to 20 minutes.
Consumption must be at least 0.15 l/m2 at all times. Processing temperature for application is between +5 and +25 degrees; below +5 degrees the product evaporates very slowly. The effect, depending on weather conditions develops after 1.5 to 2 weeks.
- Clean tools, brush, paint roller, etc. with water.
Consumption (indication)
Depending on porosity approx. 0.15-0.20 ltr/m2.
Properties of the facade cream
- Vapour-permeable
- Alkali-resistant
- Very good water repellency
- Colourless
- Easy to apply
